Why is wired connection not possible?

Created by Team Support, Modified on Tue, 26 Aug at 1:34 PM by Davy Stevens

At Watersley we prioritize security, flexibility, and reliability.
That’s why the use of wired (Ethernet) connections is not allowed in our environment.

Reasons:

  1. Security:

    • Wired connections create a risk since unauthorized users can gain direct access to the network through a physical port.

    • Wi-Fi allows for multiple security layers such as encryption, password protection, and access management.

  2. Management & Control:

    • Wi-Fi gives us better tools to monitor access and revoke it when necessary.

    • With wired connections, this flexibility is missing, making it harder to ensure controlled usage.

  3. Flexibility:

    • In modern workspaces, mobility is key. Wired connections lock users to a single desk, while Wi-Fi provides freedom without compromising performance.

Conclusion:

To guarantee a safe and modern working environment, we have chosen to use wireless solutions only. This ensures the perfect balance between security, convenience, and flexibility.
